Private Lessons – for individuals or groups

Suedy can arrange a private face painting or body painting lesson brimming with content customised just for you or your small group.

Custom classes are personalised workshops for individuals and small groups who need to book a specific time or would like their workshop content tailored to suit their needs. Suedy is often hired by schools and organisations to prepare their students, staff and volunteers for upcoming events, makeup schools who wish to provide their students with specialist knowledge, individual face painters or makeup artists who want to take their art to the next level, or beginners who just want to have fun and explore their creativity in the safety of a private lesson.

Where do they happen?
Custom workshops can take place anywhere that there is some peace and quiet and a sizable dining table. For small groups of 1-4 people Suedy runs them from her home studio in Northcote. For groups of 5 or more they can be run at another agreed location. Most often, clients will offer up their dining room and ask all attendees to bring a plate of something to share for afternoon tea and make a real day of it. It’s a lot of fun!

How long does it take?
Suedy’s custom workshops can take anywhere from 3 to 7 hours, depending on your chosen topic and the amount of content you need to achieve your goals. As a general rule, the more people in a class, the longer it takes to get through course material, so only full day classes are recommended for groups of 4+. Suedy’s minimum booking duration is 3 hours (individuals only), but the most common choice is a 4hr intensive session.

What’s included?
Suedy can provide paints, brushes, practice mats, a few practice heads, and other necessary equipment for use during the workshop if you don’t already have your own kit. If you do have your own kit, you are encouraged to bring it so that we can get the most out of what you already have. Depending on the workshop you may be given notes to take home, and you’re welcome to take photos for personal reference throughout the workshop. Workshops at Suedy’s home studio also include yummy snacks and really good coffee, with the potential of a puppy cuddle or ten from her friendly Boston Terrier, Beans!

How much does it cost?
Custom classes are a premium service, and are more expensive than open-to-public classes as the cost isn’t spread out among so many people, you get 100% of Suedy’s attention, and the content is customised just for you. Prices are on a sliding scale depending on the number of attendees in a class; the more participants, the lower the cost per head. Contact Suedy with your requirements for a personalised quote.
