Face Painting, Costume Makeup, and Extreme Body Art Transformation Booking Terms and Conditions

All bookings with Juicy Body Art that involve an Artist only (no model, no workshop element) are subject to the following terms and conditions. It’s important that you read and understand these thoroughly before making a booking.

For the purposes of this document the following terms are defined as follows:

  • Juicy Body Art: the service provider.
  • Client: anyone who engages Juicy Body Art to provide a service.
  • Juicy Body Artist: a representative of Juicy Body Art that hosts and/or provides art or art tuition as part of Juicy Body Art’s services.
  1. The Client is to provide a venue suitable for the purpose of the provision of Juicy Body Art’s services. The venue must have the following properties to be deemed suitable:
    1. The space must have sufficient room for the Juicy Body Artist/s to set up and perform the service without interference. A quiet space slightly removed from the main action is best. We work well in a space approximately 2m x 2m square per artist. This does not include queueing space for lines at larger events.
    2. When painting, the space must be adequately and appropriately lit. We must be able to clearly see what we are doing to provide the best artwork for the Client. Diffused lighting or daylight is recommended for regular face and body painting, and UV black lights are required in a darkened space for UV glow painting. Juicy Body Art is happy to consult with the Client ahead of time to ensure that our work displays as planned.
    3. The space must be sheltered and out of the elements. This is for the safety and wellbeing of Juicy Body Art’s representatives, and for that of the client’s guests. If at any point the Juicy Body Artist feels that the area has become unsuitable to complete his/her service in a safe and comfortable manner within reason, the Client must provide a more suitable sheltered space, otherwise the provision of services will end without notice. No refunds or discounts will be given.
  2. The Client is responsible for all damage to property, whether accidental or intentional, caused by the Client or his/her guests or representatives.
    1. If any property or equipment is damaged by the Client or his/her guests or representatives in the course of delivering a service to the Client, the Client is liable for the cost of repair or replacement of the damaged property.
    2. Juicy Body Art will notify the Client as soon as the damage is discovered and will invoice the Client for the cost of repair or replacement of the damaged property.
  3. Payment terms:
    1. When a tentative booking is made, Juicy Body Art will invoice the Client for the price of the package. This invoice will clearly outline the booking fee to be paid, the total cost of the package, and the dates that each payment is due.
    2. The booking fee (calculated at 50% of the total price) is payable within 24 hours of a tentative booking being made.
    3. A booking is considered tentative until the booking fee is paid, and Juicy Body Art may release the time slot to another client until such time as the booking is confirmed. Juicy Body Art will always try to communicate with the Client if this situation is likely to occur.
    4. A booking is considered confirmed once the Booking Agreement is completed in full by the Client and returned to Juicy Body Art, and the Client’s payment of the booking fee has cleared.
    5. Booking fees are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation on the Client’s behalf, as this covers administrative costs related to the booking, and loss of income from reserving the time slot for the Client.
    6. The balance of payment is due 7 business days prior to the event date unless otherwise specified. Failure to pay the balance of the invoice on time may forfeit your reservation. Juicy Body Art will not attend a booking if payment is incomplete. This decision is at the discretion of Juicy Body Art and its representatives.
    7. The Client also has the option of paying in full upon booking (booking fee plus balance).
    8. If the Client pays their invoice in full up front via Bank Deposit within 24 hours of booking, they are eligible for a $10 Early Bird Discount. This applies to payments via Bank Deposit only, not Credit Card Payments.
    9. Juicy Body Art accepts payment via Bank Deposit or Credit Card. For Credit Card payments a surcharge of 1.9% applies if paid over the phone or in person, or 2.5% if paid securely online via Square Invoice.
    10. Juicy Body Art avoids handling cash wherever possible for the safety of our representatives.
    11. If the Client changes the location of a booking at any time, additional travel charges will apply and Juicy Body Art will invoice the client for these charges.
    12. If, for any reason, a Client’s group is running late, Juicy Body Art cannot offset the timing of the services provided, nor offer refunds for time lost as a result lateness on the Client’s behalf.
    13. If full payment has not been made within 14 days after service provision, the Client is liable to pay a late payment fee, calculated at 10% of the outstanding amount. This fee will compound monthly, adding 10% per month until the outstanding amount (plus accumulated late payment fees) is paid in full. This is to cover extra administration and lost interest arising from delayed payment.
  4. Cancellation terms:
    1. Booking fees (calculated at 50% of the total price) are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation on the Client’s behalf, as this partially covers costs related to the booking.
    2. The balance (total price minus booking fee) may be refunded or credited at the discretion of Juicy Body Art if a cancellation is made in writing between 30 – 14 days prior to the event date, and another booking is made on that date which takes its place.
    3. For cancellations made between 14 – 0 days prior to the event date, or where another booking cannot be made to take its place, no refunds or credits will be made. This covers the cost of personnel, preparation, and materials purchased specifically for this booking.
    4. Juicy Body Art will offer replacement personnel or refund the entire package price in the rare event that a cancellation is made on our behalf.
  5. Privacy and confidentiality:
    1. Use of the Client’s information:
      1. Juicy Body Art will not use the Client’s information for any purpose not related to the provision of the service agreed to.
      2. Juicy Body Art will only disclose relevant information to a third party if we need to do so to complete a service that the Client has requested.
      3. Photos are often taken by Juicy Body Art’s representatives as part of the service provided. These photos may used on Juicy Body Art’s website (www.juicybodyart.com), or Facebook (www.facebook.com/juicybodyart or www.facebook.com/suedeesfacepainting). If the Client would prefer not to have this included as part of the service, this request must be made at the time of booking.
      4. Juicy Body Art will not give out the Client’s financial information to any third parties.
      5. Any variation to the above privacy policy must be discussed at the time of booking.
    2. Confidentiality:
      1. Any correspondence entered into between Juicy Body Art and the Client is confidential and may also be privileged and exempt from disclosure under applicable law.
      2. The Client is not to disclose information about Juicy Body Art’s services, including but not limited to pricing, to any third parties.
  6. Disclaimer:
    1. As per the strict safety and hygiene protocol set out by FACE International and the Australasian Face and Body painting Association, Juicy Body Art’s representatives will not paint guests who:
      1. Have a contagious/infectious condition or runny nose;
      2. Have irritated, allergic, or broken skin;
      3. Have dirt or food on the area to be painted;
      4. Are distressed, asleep, uncooperative, or unwilling to be painted.
    2. Face painting is recommended for guests over the age of 3 years old. For guests under 3 years of age:
      1. A small design on the arm or hand will be offered;
      2. If the child is amenable, we may be able to paint a matching quick small design on the child’s cheek, away from the eyes.
      3. We cannot paint full face designs on children under 3 years of age.
      4. If the Client plans on having a large number of children under the age of 3 in attendance at their event, please notify Juicy Body Art upon booking so that extra time can be factored in.
      5. We do not recommend face painting for infants under 2 years of age.
    3. Juicy Body Art only uses the best quality cosmetic products, applied in a safe and hygienic manner. Despite this, allergic reactions may occur in a small percentage of people. Clients and parents of children to be painted must notify Juicy Body Art representatives prior to painting taking place if they or their child is prone to allergic reactions or skin sensitivity. A patch test can be conducted, or the Juicy Body Art representative may choose not to paint the individual. Guests participate at their own risk, and Juicy Body Art takes no responsibility for individual reactions to cosmetics or potential environmental allergens. Material Safety Data Sheets can be provided upon request prior to the booking.
    4. Balloons can represent a choking hazard and are recommended for children over the age of 3 years. Parents are advised to always supervise their children when playing with balloons.
    5. Please note that when a team of Juicy Body Artists is hired for larger events, we all work in the same area from a single queue. This moves the line faster, is fairer, is easier to close without extending into overtime, and is safer as guests need not wait in the sun for long periods of time. This is also for OH&S, enabling our Artists to take brief staggered “pit stops” if necessary on longer shifts without affecting the waiting time for guests. We do not recommend splitting teams up into multiple locations with multiple queues, so please discuss this with us prior to booking if you have differing needs.

Body Art Party and Workshop Booking Terms and Conditions

All bookings with Juicy Body Art that involve body painting a model and/or a workshop element are subject to the following terms and conditions.

  • Model: a representative of Juicy Body Art that is present for the purpose of being body painted as part of Juicy Body Art’s services.
If the package selected includes a Juicy Body Artist only (no Model or workshop element) we work well in a space approximately 2m x 2m square per artist. This does not include queueing space for lines at larger events. If the package selected involves a Model, at least a 3m x 3m area is required.
    4. If the package selected involves a workshop and Model the following additional considerations must be made:
      1. The space must be private and not visible to the general public or other patrons sharing the venue. As body art can involve partial nudity, this requirement is for the safety and comfort of our models and your guests, and out of sensitivity to the values of members of the public or the venue’s other patrons.
      2. The space must have sufficient room for guests to freely move around during the workshop.
      3. The space must contain enough tables and chairs for each guest to have their own work space during the workshop. As a guide, each guest’s workspace needs to be about the size of a place setting at a dinner table.
      4. The venue must have an area for the Model to comfortably and privately change.
      5. The venue must be at a comfortable temperature for the safety and wellbeing of our Models. Outdoor venues are generally not appropriate for this purpose.
      6. If a Model will be on display for viewing by an audience, appropriate lighting must be provided in the viewing area to optimally showcase the art work (e.g. UV black lights for UV body paints, diffused lighting for regular body paints, etc.). Juicy Body Art is happy to consult with the Client’s AV technicians to ensure that the art displays as planned.
  2. Our Models’ safety, wellbeing and comfort is our top priority, and they must be treated with respect by the Client’s guests at all times.
    1. The behaviour of the Client’s guests is the responsibility of the Client.
    2. Our Models are there only for the purpose of displaying the art work. Interacting with the Model in any way that is not in line with this purpose, or in any way that makes the Model feel uncomfortable or unsafe is strictly forbidden.
    3. Juicy Body Art has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for any form of harassment – sexual, verbal or physical. Any and all claims by our Models of experiencing any form of harassment during the event will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken.
    4. If at any time our Model/s are harassed or feel unsafe, they will remove themselves from the threat, and ring Juicy Body Art for immediate collection from the event. All booked activities will cease, no refunds will be given, and an investigation will be lodged.
    5. When a Juicy Body Art representative is not on site to accompany the Model/s, an appropriate Duty Manager must be assigned by the Client to ensure that our Model/s safety and comfort is attended to.
    6. While you are looking after our Models, please ensure they have access to drinking water during the event and that appropriate rest breaks are negotiated and given.
    7. Please ensure these terms are shared with the Duty Manager and/or your client, so that they are also aware of our expectations.

This fee will compound monthly, adding 10% per month until the outstanding amount (plus accumulated late payment fees) is paid in full. This is to cover extra administration and lost interest arising from delayed payment.
    14. Please note that third party suppliers (including but not limited to venues, caterers, photographers, etc.) will have their own terms and conditions that apply to your booking.
  5. Cancellation terms:
    1. Booking fees (calculated at 50% of the total price) are non-refundable in the event of a cancellation on the Client’s behalf, as this partially covers costs related to the booking.

    5. In the rare event that a Model is incapacitated and unable to attend an event at the last minute, Juicy Body Art will do everything possible to find a suitable replacement Model. If no Model can be found, Juicy Body Art will offer a replacement service at a discounted rate and refund the difference in package price. If the Client does not wish to accept the replacement service and discount, a refund of the full package price will be made with our apologies.
    6. Please note that refunds for Juicy Extras provided by third party suppliers (including but not limited to venues, caterers, photographers, etc.) is at the discretion of that supplier. Juicy Body Art has no control over whether or not they will be able to offer you a refund, and is not liable for any loss or damages as a result of last minute cancellations.
    7. Please note that third party suppliers (including but not limited to venues, caterers, photographers, etc.) will have their own terms and conditions that apply to the Client’s booking. It is the Client’s responsibility to read and understand these terms.
